Top Senate Lobbyist Joins Elmendorf Strategies

Washington, DC – Elmendorf Strategies, LLC today announced the hiring of former Senate aide and lobbyist Jamie Houton. Houton, most recently a Director of Federal Affairs for Microsoft Corp, will be joining one of the fastest growing government relations firms in Washington, DC.

As the Director of Government Relations for Microsoft Corporation, Houton directed Microsoft’s political, policy, and executive engagement with Democratic members and staff in the U.S. Senate. Houton managed multiple legislative initiatives impacting Microsoft and the high tech industry, particularly relating to antitrust, intellectual property protection, telecommunications, immigration, international trade, tax, privacy and security.

Before joining Microsoft, Houton worked in the US Senate for the Senate Democratic Leadership and on the legislative staff of Senator John Kerry (D-MA). During his tenure on the Steering & Coordination Committee, one of Senator Tom Daschle’s leadership committees, Houton designed and implemented the Senate Democratic leadership’s outreach initiative to the high tech community and the Senate Democratic staff high tech working group that coordinated the drafting and launch of the Democratic Caucus’ high tech agenda for the106th Congress.
